Setup Guide - New Meta Quest Headsets

A step-by-step guide to setting up new Meta Quest headsets.

Important Information

Each Meta Quest headset requires its own Meta Account. Do not attempt to set up multiple headsets with a single Meta Account. Jenson8 applications will return an error if multiple users attempt to join on the same Meta Account.

We recommend using an alternative email to set up your account if yours is logged in on another Meta Quest device.

Upon first launch, you will need to go through the following process:

• Connect to Wi-Fi.
• Connect to the Meta Quest app - set up a Meta account and sign in to the mobile app, then go to Menu > Devices and select 'connect new device'. Select your device from the list of available devices, then allow it to pair automatically. If automatic pairing is unsuccessful you will be asked to input a code displayed in the headset.

• You will have to watch the introduction videos, safety

  acknowledgements and tutorial pages. These cannot be skipped.

• Set up a guardian boundary - Select a roomscale boundary, ensure the virtual floor level corresponds with the floor in your physical space, then draw a 3x3m (10x10ft) room scale boundary for an optimal experience with Jenson8 applications. For first-time set up purposes, you may create a smaller boundary or use a stationary boundary, though a roomscale boundary is required for actual experiences.
• If you are using a Quest 3, note that the automatic boundary function often does not set the floor level correctly. To ensure you do not have this issue, proceed with setting up your boundary manually.

You have now completed headset setup and will go through to the virtual home environment. From here you can begin to install Jenson8 applications from the store.
