What is a Tech Check?
A tech check is a meeting which connects participants with a Jenson8 technician to ensure they are prepared for their upcoming session. The technician will guide the participant to a point where they can independently enter Jenson8 software and confirm that they have correctly configured their device.
The participant should attend this meeting in the same location they will be in for the upcoming session, with the device they will be using to enter Jenson8 experiences.
We recommend booking a 30-minute meeting for each tech check, however, if participants carry out the setup steps (detailed below) ahead of this meeting; only 10 minutes is generally required to run a connection test:
If using a VR headset - complete setup:
- If the headset is new and has not passed initial setup, follow our guide for new Meta Quest headsets.
- If the headset has been set up before, you can follow our guide for rented or borrowed Meta Quest headsets. (if your headset asks you to set up a boundary when launching, this usually means it has been set up)
- Experienced VR users who do not require a setup guide - you require a minimum 2m x 3m (7ft x 10ft) guardian boundary and must be connected to Wi-Fi.
If using a Windows PC - ensure the following:
- Have a set of headphones with a boom mic and an external mouse to hand.
- Disable any VPNs
- Install the relevant Jenson8 software.
- Complete an internet speed test in the location where the session will be attended and send a screenshot to the relevant organiser.
If you are unsure of having technical difficulties; your Jenson8 technician will be happy to assist during the tech check.
