Apollo Game Settings

There are two main settings that control the difficulty of a game of Apollo, and these are both configured on the Manage Game page.

1. Difficulty

The Apollo difficulty settings in the dashboard allow session managers to choose between "Easy", "Medium" and "Hard" levels. The Difficulty setting has two effects:

The first is to change the time delay after the following events, or 'Cooldown'. For each event, the cooldown time in seconds is shown for each level of Easy (10 seconds), Medium (20 seconds) and Hard (30 seconds):

  • A player creating an item in the matrix (10, 20, 30)
  • B player creating an item at an A player workbench (10, 20, 30)
  • B or C player triggering an event (10, 20, 30)

The second is to change the number of completed components available to the players in the escape pod at the start of the game.

  • Easy –6 batteries, 6 tanks, 6 motherboards, 2 panels (enough components to complete 2 pods)
  • Medium – 2 batteries, 2 motherboards, 1 tank, 1 panel
  • Hard – no complete components

2. Duration

The game duration is the time that A players have to complete their task starting from their arrival on the cave floor. The default is 8 minutes. A shorter time will make it harder to complete the task.
