B and C Player Functionality
This article provides details of B and C players functionality, this will describe what options B and C players have, and how to use them.

Two ways to play
There are two ways to participant in Boomerang:
- VR Headset - Available for Meta Quest headsets
- Desktop - Available for Windows 10 and 11 PCs - note that you must use a set of headphones (with a boom mic) and external mouse (non-trackpad) for an optimal external.
Tutorial
Before the first round of Boomerang begins, all players will go through the A player tutorial to ensure all players are able to use the primary functions of the game.
B and C players will then switch to their functionality following the end of the tutorial.
B Players
In Boomerang, B players can create food and fertiliser blocks, trigger events and communicate with A players using Private Chat and Broadcasting functions. Please review the information below for a complete overview of the B player functionality in Boomerang.
How to Broadcast
VR Headset
Locate the broadcast button within your toolbar, hover over this, then press the trigger to enable broadcasting. Enablement is indicated by an orange light which illuminates above the button. Once this is enabled, broadcasting will remain on until it is selected again. Note that if a player is broadcasting, all other B and C players will be prevented from using this.
Desktop
Locate the broadcast button within your toolbar, hover over this, then press using the mouse left-click to enable broadcasting. Enablement is indicated by an orange light which illuminates above the button. Once this is enabled, broadcasting will remain on until it is selected again. Note that if a player is broadcasting, all other B and C players will be prevented from using this.
How to Private Chat
VR Headset
Locate the Private Chat button within your toolbar, hover over this, then press the trigger to bring up a list of the A players available for private chat. Then select the tab of the A player you would like to private chat with. Once this is enabled, the tab will turn green and show an icon of a phone, you will remain in this private chat until you select this phone icon to 'hang up' the private chat. If another B player is in a private chat with a given A player, you will not be able to start or join a private chat with this A player.
Desktop
Locate the broadcast button within your toolbar, hover over this, then press using the mouse left-click to bring up a list of A players available for private chat. Then select the tab of the A player you would like to private chat with. Once this is enabled, the tab will turn green and show an icon of a phone, you will remain in this private chat until you select this phone icon to 'hang up' the private chat. If another B player is in a private chat with a given A player, you will not be able to start or join a private chat with this A player.
How to turn on/off a food dispenser
VR Headset
To turn a food dispenser on or off, first navigate to the desired food dispenser by teleporting using the hot spots (Note: you must be near the food dispenser you would like to turn on or off). Next, select the 'Dispensers' button using the trigger on your controller. The dispensers button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the dispenser you would like to turn on or off.
Desktop
To turn a food dispenser on or off, first navigate to the desired food dispenser by teleporting using the hot spots (Note: you must be near the food dispenser you would like to turn on or off). Next select the 'Dispensers' button using your mouse. The dispensers button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the dispenser you would like to turn on or off.
How to Turn On/Off a Grow Lab
VR Headset
To turn a grow lab on or off, first select the 'Grow Labs' button using the trigger on your controller. The grow labs button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the color of the grow labs you would like to turn on or off.
Desktop
To turn a grow lab on or off, first click the 'Grow Labs' button using your mouse. The grow labs button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the color of the grow labs you would like to turn on or off.
How to Create a Food Block
VR Headset
To spawn a food block in headset, first select the 'create' button using the trigger on your controller. The create button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the color food block you would like to create. After this, the food block will appear next to the report player area for the selected color.
Desktop
To spawn a food block in desktop, first click the 'create' button using your mouse. The create button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the color food block you would like to create. After this, the food block will appear next to the report player area for the selected color.
How to Create a Fertiliser Block
VR Headset
To spawn a fertiliser block in headset, first select the 'create' button using the trigger on your controller. The create button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the location you would like the fertiliser block to appear (North or South stairs). After this, the fertiliser block will appear at the selected location.
Desktop
To spawn a fertiliser block in desktop, first click the 'create' button using your mouse. The create button is located within your toolbar. Then, select the location you would like the fertiliser block to appear (North or South stairs). After this, the fertiliser block will appear at the selected location.
C Players
C players are limited to two functions: Broadcast and Eavesdrop. See below for details.
How to Broadcast
VR Headset

How to Eavesdrop
VR Headset
Locate the Eavesdrop button within your toolbar, hover over this, then press the trigger to bring up the list of private chats. If there is a private chat active, you will be able to select the tab of the active chat and listen in on the the two players engaged in this chat. You will continue to listen in on this chat until you select the tab again to disable eavesdropping, or until the private chat has ended. Note that players who are eavesdropping cannot be heard.

Locate the broadcast button within your toolbar, hover over this, then press using the mouse left-click to bring up the list of private chats. If there is a private chat active, you will be able to select the tab of the active chat and listen in on the the two players engaged in this chat.
