VR Headset Maintenance
This article outlines the process for tech checking an internal fleet of headsets, which can be carried out before running a session to maintain headsets and ensure they are ready for use.
If your headsets are set up via an MDM; you can carry out many steps using the MDM dashboard.
Between Sessions
- Turn on headsets and check the charge of the headset and both hand controllers. Replace/recharge handset batteries if the power is low.
- Clean the headset - use sanitising wipes (suitable for contact with skin) to clean all touch points of the hand controllers and headset besides the lenses.
- Use a clean and dry microfiber to wipe the lenses.
- Once complete, Ensure the headset is powered off, then repackage.
- Hand controllers are motion activated so they may lose charge in transit, you may want to remove the batteries from the controllers and leave them inside the box/case to ensure they do not run out of charge.
Workshop Setup Checks
- Ensure the microphone is not muted in quick settings, and that volume/brightness is set to a suitable level.
- Check your Wi-Fi network is connected and the signal strength is good.
- Ensure that all Jenson8 applications have all requested permissions allowed.
- Run a connection test on all relevant applications, ensuring all headsets have the corresponding activation code in (if applicable).
- Every so often, it is a good idea to clear the boundary history in headsets to save processing power and avoid boundary configuration issues.
- Once setup is complete, place the headset on charge until the green LED is displayed on the side of the headset.
