What are the Network Requirements for Running a Jenson8 Workshop?

Establishing a strong network connection is vital for ensuring a smooth and successful experience.

If you are running an on-site workshop, we recommend assigning an IT contact to work with the Jenson8 tech team to ensure the following requirements are met. Additionally, we recommend that you submit a request to the network team for a separate dedicated Wi-Fi network to be set up in line with the requirements in this article.

(Note that if you cannot use a dedicated network, you may need extra bandwidth depending on other network traffic - ask your network contact to advise)

If you are running a remote workshop, we request that all participants run an internet speed test to ensure their home internet connection is strong and meets our requirements below.

Network Speed

For an optimal experience, our minimum per-participant requirements are:

- Minimum 20mbps Download Speed

- Minimum 10mbps Upload Speed

- Under 50ms combined latency and jitter

Example - 4 participants would require 80mbps download, 40mbps upload and under 50ms combined latency and jitter.

Test the network speed here, ensuring any VPNs are disabled - https://speed.cloudflare.com/

Firewall and Proxy Settings

Jenson8 Products require access to gaming servers which may be blocked by corporate networks or other heavily restricted networks.

The easiest way to test a network is by running a connection test with a Jenson8 technician.

Forward the article linked below to your relevant IT or networking contact at the venue. They should be able to tell you whether Jenson8 applications will be blocked, and use the information in this article to whitelist our products on the network if necessary - Technical Guide to Deploying Jenson8 Applications
